Search underway for our CarExpert NZ Lead Presenter and Car Reviewer

We're on the hunt to find a successful candidate to become the face and on-camera voice of CarExpert in New Zealand.

March 2, 2026

Applications are now open for a Lead Presenter and Car Reviewer to become the face and on-camera voice of CarExpert New Zealand.

CarExpert is seeking candidates who have genuine automotive knowledge, a strong on-camera presence, and storytelling ability. The Auckland-based role will focus on content creation and on-camera presentation across CarExpert NZ’s YouTube channel, website and social platforms.

Importantly, today’s automotive audience don’t just want headlines — they want depth, independence and practical insight. This search comes at a time when traditional automotive journalism and influencer content are being reshaped by audience demand for authenticity and expertise. According to industry sources, buyers consult video reviews and in-depth comparisons earlier in their research journey than ever before, placing a premium on trusted voices that cut through marketing hype.

As Australia’s fastest-growing automotive review and research platform, CarExpert has already seen this demand play out on its own shores, with more than 20 million views of the CarExpert YouTube channel in 2025. Paul Maric, CarExpert's Founder and YouTube Presenter in Australia, explains that there is a genuine appetite for detailed new-car reviews and side-by-side comparisons that unpack complexity and translate it into practical, real-world advice.

Supported by a collaborative recruitment campaign between CarExpert and Trade Me Motors, the exciting new role for CarExpert NZ will work closely with the local editorial team. The successful candidate will help bring vehicle testing and reviews to life for audiences. It isn’t a typical presenter role, as we’re looking for someone who understands vehicles at a technical level, can translate that complexity clearly on-screen, and is ready to help shape the voice and editorial direction of a growing automotive brand in the New Zealand market.

Listen to the legendary kiwi motorsport driver, Greg Murphy give his take on what he thinks of this one-of-a-kind role.

Shortlisted applicants will complete an on-camera challenge as part of the final selection process, and we’ll be sharing some of the entries across our YouTube channel and social platforms.
